The accused was ordered provisional detention in a hearing of multiple requests, held on December 22, 2021 and; Subsequently, in a hearing to review the precautionary measure requested by his defense attorney on January 25, 2022, the Court of Guarantees granted him a home deposit, which was appealed by the Public Ministry, achieving in this appeal hearing, held this Monday, the revocation of that decision.
The sister of the Panamanian deputy Elías Vigil, maintains links with a criminal organization called Humildad y Purza (HP), led by her spouse (currently wanted by the authorities), allegedly dedicated to the commission of serious crimes in the East Panama area such as kidnapping , robbery, contract killings, extortion and drug trafficking, among other serious crimes, this criminal group holding meetings in hotels, one of which was reserved by the accused.
In this case, there are still multiple procedures to be carried out and there are other people to apprehend, who are among the most wanted by the authorities.
