Three people found guilty for the explosion of the PH Costa Mare

Three people were found guilty by an Oral Trial Court, after the Specialized Section for Homicide and Femicide of the Metropolitan Area presented the evidence that proved the crime of aggravated manslaughter and injuries.

In the oral trial related to the explosion in the Costa Mare building, the legal person in charge of the administration and two of its collaborators were declared criminally responsible for the commission of the aforementioned crimes.

These people were accused of the reactivation of the gas service by unsuitable personnel, without following the proper and established procedures in our country, facilitating the occurrence of this fatal event.

The trial took place over 11 days in which the Prosecutor’s Office managed to evacuate testimonial, expert and documentary evidence in relation to the investigation followed by the commission of the crime of aggravated manslaughter and injuries, in an event in which a child under 10 died months old and his 5-year-old brother and his mother were injured as a result of a gas explosion, which caused burns to a large part of their anatomy, putting their lives at risk, on the night of May 31, 2019 , in apartment No.2 of Tower 7 of PH Costa Mare, located in Costa Sur, village of Don Bosco.

The sentencing hearing to establish the sentence of the convicted persons will be held on April 28, at 2:30 in the afternoon.
