The suspension of the sports director of Tottenham, Fabio Paratici, sanctioned in Italy for his role in the scandal of the overvalued transfers of Juventuswas extended worldwide on Wednesday, FIFA announced.
In January 2023, Juventus was sentenced by the Italian sports court, which accused the club of having registered artificially inflated capital gains in its accounts during player transfers. Paratici, a former Juventus manager, then received a 30-month suspension, valid only in Italy.
“FIFA confirms that, after a request from the Italian Federation (FIGC), the president of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the FIGC against some officials to worldwide,” said the federation international in a statement.
The former midfielder later converted to a manager, who went through Juventus between 2010 and June 2021, He is now 50 years old and is contracted by Tottenham.

The Turin club was accused above all of having overestimated the sale prices of some playersin the framework of a series of crossed operations with other clubs, with the aim of recording artificially inflated capital gains in their accounts.
‘Juve’ is also the subject of a judicial investigation on possible accounting fraud to artificially limit their losses in the balance sheets presented to investors, between 2018 and 2021.
This scandal of the inflated transfers initially affected several Italian clubs, who were acquitted last year. The court of appeal of the Italian Federation accepted the request of the federal prosecutor to reopen the case, solely in relation to Juventus.
