FANB disabled aircraft number 11 associated with drug trafficking in Apure

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) disabled, in the Pedro Camejo municipality, Apure state, an unidentified hostile aircraft associated with drug trafficking that violated Venezuelan airspace, reported the head of the Fanb’s Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernandez Larez.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Hernández Lárez specified that the aircraft flew over without identification or flight plan, and was navigating with a disconnected transponder.

With this action, the FANB has disabled, so far in 2023, 11 aircraft that have violated national sovereignty.

“In the Pedro Camejo municipality of Apure state, #FANB disables an unidentified hostile aircraft associated with drug trafficking, for violating Venezuelan airspace, lacking a flight plan and navigating with a disconnected transponder, being No. 11 of the year 2023,” the newspaper published. In this way, the FANB guarantees the defense and sovereignty of the country, protecting the airspace from illegal incursions by groups linked to drug trafficking.

Disabled aircraft in Alta Guajira

On March 27, the FANB also disabled in Alta Guajira, Zulia state, a aircraft fixed-wing aircraft, for violating aerospace control provisions.
