The Investigative Police (PDI) arrested three people on Tuesday night for the murder of the carabinera Rita Olivares. A subject shot her in the head, at dawn on Sunday, in the middle of a robbery proceeding in Quilpué, Valparaíso Region.
The PDI detained the subjects of initials MIPP and MAFL in Cerro Los Placeres, in the commune of Valparaíso. The officials also apprehended a woman as a cover-up, who would be a partner of one of those involved.

The two men arrested escaped from the Valparaíso Prison in 2021. In addition, they have reiterations for the crimes of robbery with intimidation, robbery with violence, illegal possession of firearms and theft.
The prefect of the PDI Alberto Vasquez indicated that in the procedure they seized three weapons, two pistols and a shotgun, slogan Radio DNA.
With the apprehension of these three subjects, there are a total of six people arrested for the murder of Rita Olivares.
The general director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, indicated yesterday that Olivares was posthumously promoted from second sergeant to major non-commissioned officer. In addition, he pointed out that the possession of the Carabineros de El Belloto will have her name.
