Arce inaugurates the bartolinas congress, admits divisions and asks not to fear differences

The inauguration of the XVIII congress of the Bartolina Sisa peasant women, in the city of Tarija, was used by the president of the State, Luis Arce, to request a debate without fear of differences of opinion, admitted division in organizations and he also took advantage of the speech to explain the economic task he carried out in his first two years in office, as a delayed response to Evo Morales, who criticized him for his economic management.

“This your congress is very important, with a healthy, open debate, You don’t have to be afraid of differences, but you have to know how to reach coincidences so that from here sisters, as happened in 2020, where we defeated the right, come out united, because then we all did it together, all united, unity sisters from Bartolinas, unity”, exhorted the Head of State in the speech he offered in the city from Tarija.

The National Confederation of Native Indigenous Peasant Women of Bolivia- Bartolina Sisa is one of the five organizations that are part of the Unity Pact and support the Government, is directed by the ex-deputy, Flora Aguilar, who is accused by the Evistas of having become an archist.

The president recited the names of all the former and current leaders who made it to the Tarija Coliseum. Among those named were the former ministers of Evo Morales, Juanita Ancieta, Julia Ramos or Nemesia Achacollo, also the unconditional leaders of Evo Morales such as Leonilda Zuritawho observed indifferently the president’s message.

The first president admitted that there is division in social organizations who support the Government and pointed to international factors that would be behind these struggles of the social movements of the Unity Pact.

“There are foreign and national interests to divide our organizationsbut sisters, you know that we are not going to allow it, our sisters here are going to come out stronger, united in a monolithic vision of taking care of their Government, of caring for the process of change, that unity, sisters, is the only guarantee to advance”, launched the president.

But he also took the opportunity to explain the economic task he carried out in the first two years of his administration, which It seemed like a response to the criticism he received from former President Evo Moraleswho told him over the weekend that the country was not doing well economically.

assured that the Covid-19 pandemic is practically resolved and that due to this pandemic many mayors were left in debt, in addition to the “mismanagement” in which the government of Jeanine Áñez incurred.

“We had hit rock bottom, we were facing an economic recession of close to 12%, a recession that had not been seen since the 1950s in our country, imagine, a deep economic crisis. The first year of our government we grew positive at 6.1% and Today we continue on the path of growth thanks to the struggle of the Bolivian people”, explained Arce to the attendees.
