The XI Congress of the Popular Participation Movement (MPP) that was held this weekend at the Club Cordón in Montevideo, officially approved the candidacy of Yamandú Orsi for the internal elections of the Broad Front with a view to the 2024 national elections.
“The XI Congress of the MPP ‘Eduardo Bonomi – Gabriela Soto’, committed to the broader and alternative construction, understands it necessary to accompany and promote the pre-candidacy of comrade Yamandú Orsi”, this was expressed in the motion approved by acclamation by the militants present. .
When taking the floor, Orsi stressed that the challenge is to win the 2024 national elections because “what we see hurts us.”
“It’s not just to win, it’s because we can be able to change reality to think about the future, building and rebuilding,” Orsi said.
“More front, broader, with stronger sectors, for that we have to be clear about unity in diversity, where freedom is a guarantee that this unity endures,” he clarified.
“The personalities are nothing without the back of the people who understand that if we don’t all go together, we will fail,” he said.
