Through In a statement, the Electoral Tribunal (TE) clarified that the annulment of elections in several corregimientos of the country, by the National Commission for Internal Elections of the Democratic Change Party (CD), is invalid.
The TE stated through the National Directorate of Electoral Organization that, as established in article 464 and subsequent articles of the Electoral Code, as well as the Election Regulations, “it is not the power of this commission to declare the nullity of the elections, since that this occurs after a legal process, which begins once the scrutinies are completed and these results are challenged by those who consider themselves affected.
They added that they must use the resources that the law allows them before the corresponding instances, who must pronounce on the matter.
