From Ciudad Bolívar, the United Democratic Venezuela Movement reaffirmed the route of claiming democracy with primary elections and a unitary candidate for the presidential elections. “We are going to play fair in the primaries, the primaries are not a panacea. Facing the primary elections, the United Democratic Venezuela Movement (VDU) settled in Bolívar state. The event was held this Saturday, March 18, in the auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce in Ciudad Bolívar, where wills for democracy and freedom of the country joined, within the framework of reaffirming support for the primary elections to be held on the next 22 October.

Former parliamentarian Beltrán Franco asserted that politics is not from the left or the right. The ideology at the moment is solidarity, the one that is not sold, is not advertised, the one that starts from the heart and commitment.

The future of the country depends on the young people who return, on those who do not leave, and on the women who courageously maintain the family, the unity, give up the money that does not exist, and pray for the family that has left.

moment of union

He drew what is experienced today in every Venezuelan home, and affirmed that “the time has come for union, and not for false unity.” He questioned the cowardly silence of some and the complicit silence of others, because of what is happening in Guyana. He took the opportunity to ratify his support for Juan Guaidoand once assured that his vote in primaries will be for the former president of the National Parliament.

The face of poverty in the country is the women, he said, while thanking the support for this crusade for Venezuela. Edgar Sarabia pointed out with figures the collapse of oil production, and the growth of poverty, located at 94%. Meanwhile, Braulio Merino proposed a country of the future framed in achieving a single candidate chosen in primaries. Unity is the objective and democracy the means, only in this way can the objectives set be achieved, he said and clarified that they are not a political party that seeks to compete for the Presidency of the Republic, but to direct an opposition towards primaries of plural participation with clear rules.

Voices that join the Movement

The participation of spokespersons from various sectors that make life in the region, served to remember the terrible migration and the critical wage situation that exists in the country, in addition, the deterioration in agri-food production, extreme poverty and the flight of human talent ,

“It is a social tragedy and family chaos. I’m sure each of us has people outside. That hurts », affirmed Edery Arrieta, during his intervention.

María Beatriz Hernández, from Agroimpulso Bolívar, through a statement, was emphatic in celebrating the birth of VDU in the state, which “was born at a time of great difficulties and in the worst of the crisis.”

For his part, José Antonio Páez from the university sector, summed up what is happening in the country in four words: “The country is destroyed.” He said that many mistakes have been made, but that they have been lessons learned, which leads to seeking unity, and otherwise it would be handing over victory to those who continue to destroy the country.

He thanked the invitation and celebrated the birth of this movement, and questioned those who criticize to destroy when a window of hope opens, seeking only their personal interests, and not collective ones. He called to support and lead the replacement generations, without perks and personal interests. “We want democracy, freedom, union, motivation, we still have strength, we are going to be sensitive to the crying of the mother and that child who asks for food,” he said.

From the Yekuana indigenous community, Iginio Montiel added to this crusade the indigenous voices, whose hopes are revived to achieve freedom and a better future.

The poet Francisco Arévalo, in his speech, did not hesitate to point out that what for many this is a dictatorship, for him it is a tyranny. He was grateful to be able to participate in this space to vindicate democracy.
