On the night of Friday, March 17, the National Anti-Corruption Police requested the Public Ministry (MP) to prosecute an undetermined number of citizens who “exercised functions” in public power and who “could be involved in serious acts of administrative corruption and embezzlement of money”.

Among them José Mascimino Marquez García, Control Room judge with competence in crimes associated with Terrorism; the president of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Caracas, Cristóbal Cornieles Perret; the superintendent of Sunacrip (National Superintendency of Crypto Assets), Joselit Ramírez; and the mayor of the Santos Michelena municipality in Aragua state, Pedro Hernández.
“From the PSUV we express our firm support and absolute support for the actions that the Venezuelan State has been developing to strengthen the fight against corruption as a scourge that seeks to corrode the morals, principles and values of Venezuela”, affirms the awning.
Then he offers to contribute to the “democratic institutions” of the country “in the fight against this criminal behavior that does not correspond in any way with the Chavista, revolutionary, socialist, humanist and Bolivarian condition.”
Between 2015 and May 2019, 133 civil servants Venezuelans, led by Nicolás Maduro, were targeted by sanctions not only by the United States, but by the 27 members of the European Union, Canada, Colombia, Panama, and Switzerland.
On December 3, 2019, 11 TIAR countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic) imposed a collective sanction on senior officials of the Venezuelan government “involved in corruption and humanitarian crimes in Venezuela”.
Finally, the PSUV statement highlights that “the fight against corruption is one of the main elements that will ultimately lead to paving the way for new political victories (…) Fall whoever falls, the Bolivarian revolution and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela They will win!”

The former Minister of Penitentiary Affairs, Iris Varela, also ruled on the accusations and arrests this Friday, March 17.

“We will fight against corruption, wherever it comes from,” tweeted Freddy Bernal, governor of Táchira.
Opposition is also manifested
The leader of Primero Justicia (PJ), Julio Borges, ruled on the arrest of various officials for alleged cases of corruption.
“What has happened in the last hours within the dictatorship clearly exemplifies that Venezuela is today a country governed by organized crime and corruption,” he assured through his social networks.
