Ombudsman demands more detailed figures on human trafficking

More detailed and comparative statistics on victims in operations against trafficking in persons requested the Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc González, before the Board of Directors of the National Commission Against Trafficking in Persons.

During the first ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the National Commission Against Trafficking in Persons, Leblanc expressed the need for a prevention campaign for this 2023 aimed at those who are victims and potential victims in order to alert the authorities.

In this first session of the Board of Directors of the National Commission against Trafficking in Persons, a management report was presented with the participation of the Judiciary, the Public Ministry, the National Police, and other security forces in the country.

During the session it was announced that Panama has been designated as the Technical Secretariat of the Regional Coalition against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants (CORETT).
