Taekwondo was confirmed along with 27 other sports on the 2028 program during the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session hosted by Beijing recently.
“We will continue to work together for a well-governed World Taekwondo and providing fair and exciting competitions,” added Choue.

Thanks to the Olympic program, taekwondo has undergone many improvements, including electronic scoring systems, revision of techniques with 4D technology and modifications in the regulations to make the art more dynamic.
The WT has grown to 211 national associations, including recently the one in Vatican City, making it one of the largest international federations in terms of global representation.
It will be the eighth edition in which the bandal sport is part of the Olympic concert.
