According to the Itamaraty, the trip by Lula and the Brazilian entourage, made up of ministers and parliamentarians, will take place between the 26th and 31st of this month. Lula will visit Beijing and Shanghai, and will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping. The president’s agenda is still being closed by the Planalto Palace.

According to the secretary for Asia and the Pacific at the Itamaraty, ambassador Eduardo Paes Saboia, the number of bilateral agreements could still increase. Among the agreements is the use of a satellite capable of monitoring the forests even in the presence of heavy clouds.

“Many agreements are being negotiated, we have 20 closed, but that number could increase over the next few days. We have health protocols, a series of agricultural products, agreements in the areas of education, culture, finance, industry, science and technology,” he said.

Itamaraty confirmed that the Brazilian delegation will also participate in a seminar with the presence of approximately 200 Brazilian businessmen from various sectors. From the agribusiness sector alone, 90 businessmen are confirmed.

The trip to China is Lula’s third international trip after taking office. The president has already gone to Argentina and to U.S.
