MIAMI, United States. — The organization The People’s Forum, recognized for organizing campaigns in favor of the Cuban regime in the United States, posted in New York City images in favor of the Cuba team participating in the fifth World Baseball Classic.
The propaganda appeared last night in one of the buildings in the Big Apple. In it appeared the message “Until the end with Cuba” and also used the hashtags #WorldBaseballClasic and #teamAsere, the latter adjective used by Castroism and by the Cuban fans to refer to the island’s team.
Although the move comes a few days before Cuba will play one of the Classic semifinals at LoanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, it is the same modus operandi used on other occasions to demand an end to the embargo and sanctions against the Cuban regime.
The images were shared on Twitter by the organization The People’s Forum itself and subsequently disseminated by the official press in Cuba, accounts of embassies of the Cuban regime abroad and pro-Castro agitators on social networks.
“Love and support in New York City for the Cuban baseball team in #WorldBaseballClassic2023. We are with Cuba until the final! #TeamAsere”, indicates the text of the publication.
The People’s Forum and pro-Castro propaganda in New York
On Sunday, October 2, 2022, The People’s Forum launched a message in the print edition of the newspaper The New York Times for the president of the United States, Joe Biden, to remove the sanctions imposed on the Cuban regime.
The text, titled Let Cuba rebuild itselfassured that the US sanctions and embargo would prevent the recovery of Cuba after the damage caused by Hurricane Ian.
On November 2 of last year, on the eve of the last vote against the embargo at the United Nations, they appeared in a New York building images in favor of the Cuban regime. The projection of the message was carried out in a similar way to yesterday, with the projection of lights on the wall of a building. However, on that occasion The People’s Forum did not take credit for its publication.
Headed by pro-Castro activists Claudia de la Cruz and Manolo de los Santos, The People’s Forum identifies itself as a group of organizers, educators, visionaries, cultural workers, thinkers and fighters committed to the transformation of the capitalist system towards “a society rooted in the equity, justice and human dignity”.
“We are an incubator of movements for working class and marginalized communities to build unity across historical lines of division at home and abroad. We are an accessible educational and cultural space that nurtures the next generation of visionaries and organizers who believe that a new world is possible through collective action,” the platform states on its official website.
