Precios de los combustibles se mantienen igual

He Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) established for the week of March 18 to 24, 2023, it is provided that fuels be marketed at the following prices:

  • Premium gasoline will be sold at RD$293.60 per gallon
  • Regular Gasoline RD$274.50 per gallon
  • Regular Diesel RD$221.60 per gallon
  • Optimum Diesel RD$241.10 per gallon
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) RD$147.60 per gallon
  • Natural Gas RD$28.97 per m3

The weekly average exchange rate is RD$54.95 from the daily publications of the Central Bank.

The Vice Minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, informed this Friday that for this week the lowest subsidy in more than two years of government will be applied, it will be RD$38.5 million to avoid increases in gasoline, the optimal diesel, among other products.

“As we have been reporting for just over a year, the crisis in Eastern Europe has caused Gasoline and Diesel to reach historic price levels. Although the price of crude oil has maintained a stable trend, this has not been the case in the case of derivatives”, said Pérez Fermín.

He reiterated that the government of President Luis Abinader has always put the people first, and after deploying an extraordinary subsidy plan, with which it has been possible to mitigate the abrupt increases week after week, keeping them frozen for more than a year.

The vice minister assured that with this sacrifice the government seeks not to affect consumers and at the same time contribute to the reduction of inflation and its effects in our country.

“To put into perspective the great relief represented by the price reduction in recent days, in the year 2022, for weeks 11 and 12, the same ones in which we find ourselves, the government ordered a subsidy of RD$1,249 million and RD$663 million respectively. The relief for finances is evident, but it does not imply a recovery by the State, much less stop subsidizing”, he reiterated that even with the reduction in prices, the government continues to subsidize, although on a smaller scale.
