Alexander Abreu, leader of Havana D’Primera, premiered this Friday on digital platforms the video clip of the song that, inspired by the Cuban team that participates in the V World Baseball Classic (WBC)composed and produced in less than a week.
The song #Team Asere, as the cast was popularly baptized, which for the second time in history advances to a semifinal of the tournament, began to take shape when last Monday the trumpeter announced on social networks that he was working on the idea, open to the collaboration of colleagues who wanted to join the project.
Two days later, Abreu published in the Facebook profile of the group the lyrics with allusions to the feat of a team that began the tournament by losing its first two duels and in recognition of the Cuban players who play in Major League Baseball (MLB) and agreed to join the group. It also alludes to the controversy and criticism that the unprecedented situation has generated.
The musician himself acknowledged that he was working under intense pressure to get the song out before the team’s next presentation, scheduled for next Sunday in the US city of Miami, where there is a large community of Cuban emigrants and exiles.
«…A very, very strong job for you to have this and for that team to be even more inspired
Let those men know that we are grateful for the history they are making today,” the trumpeter wrote after the video clip premiered.
In the production of the song, Abreu had the collaboration of instrumentalists and singers such as Isaac Delgado, El Lele, Mayito Rivera, Alaín Pérez, Maikel Blanco, Ruben Bulnes, Yasser Ramos, Giraldo Piloto and Oliver Valdés.
The video clip is directed by Yoharis Alling. It was recorded at the Abdala studios, according to a note from the Ministry of Culture.
