Everything gets complicated. Hugo Dellien, the country’s number one racket, announced that he will not play for Bolivia again in the Davis Cup until it is changed to Hiber Villafañe, president of the Bolivian Tennis Federation (FBT). Dellien’s determination was made known this Thursday at a press conference via Zoom.

“I love playing Davis Cup, but I make this decision because tennis deserves respect. I am not going to play for Bolivia in the Davis Cup until the manager (Hiber Villafañe) is changed,” said the best tennis player in the country today.

Dellien’s determination happens because on this journey, villafanedeclared TEN of THE DUTY, that the players are paid to represent the country, when “it should be more a representation of love and affection for the country.”

Dellien also questioned the assertions of Villafañe, who said that the money that comes from the ITF (International Tennis Federation) for the Davis Cup it is for the “Federation to distribute according to the policies or decisions it has. I don’t want to call him ‘whatever he wants’, but that’s basically it.”

“Behind every player there is a family. I have a wife and a daughter to support and my companions still have obligations. Food and education are not paid for with love”, added the player, who shared the Zoom with Boris Arias, Federico Zeballos and his brother Murkel, who took the first step aside in a joint statement published on their social networks.
