Heavy rains are registered in the Cibao

Powerful downpours accompanied by winds and thunderstorms occurred on Wednesday night in a large part of the 14 provinces of the Cibao Central, whose region is plagued by a strong drought.

Immediately, Civil Defense authorities have not reported any human damage due to the strong rainy.

Among the provinces where the rainfall occurred are Espalliat (Moca), Monseñor Nouel (Bonao), La Vega, San Francisco de Macorís, SantiagoPuerto Plata, Montecristi and Dajabon, among others.

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported that the rainy they will continue in the next 72 hours in much of the Dominican Republic.
