Several tanks of strong chicha (fermented drink) were seized by the National Police, through the Penitentiary Police Service in coordination with the General Directorate of the Penitentiary System.
The drink was manufactured in the Santiago Public Prison, in the province of Veraguas.
Deputy Commissioner Marcos Rodgers, Chief of the Veraguas Police Zone, indicated that this confiscation was made through the Operation called Armageddon XXI, it was carried out in all the galleries of the prison, where additional illegal substances, sharp weapons, cell phones, electronic items were located.
These operations continue in prisons nationwide, to locate and confiscate prohibited items, guaranteeing the safety of inmates and staff.
