Government says it will send as many reinforcements as necessary to RN

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, said today (15) that the government will send as many members of the National Force as necessary to control the situation in Rio Grande do Norte, after a series of criminal attacks on public buildings, businesses and vehicles. in the state. “We’ve already had the transfer of some faction leaders. But if this climate of conflagration continues, we’re going to increase the staff, which could reach three hundred, four hundred, five hundred, as necessary,” said Dino, in an interview with journalists at the Planalto Palace, in Brasília, shortly after the relaunch of the National Program for Public Security with Citizenship (Pronasci).Government says it will send as many reinforcements as necessary to RN

In recent days, Rio Grande do Norte has been the target of violent attacks orchestrated by a criminal organization that supposedly protests against the conditions of prisoners in penitentiaries. According to the minister, 220 police officers from the National Force and the Penitentiary Force were immediately assigned to contain the attacks and reinforce security in the state.

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security reported that the prisoner accused of leading the criminal faction responsible for the attacks was transferred from the Alcaçuz penitentiary to a federal prison. “We have carried out actions to decapitalize these factions. You must have followed a large operation that was carried out by the Federal Police that was aimed precisely at the decapitalization of these factions, because that is the way in which we are going to defeat them, withdrawing resources”, he says. dino.

weapons reregistration

about the decree on weapons, Dino stated that 60% of Hunters, Shooters and Collectors (CACs) completed the registration. He estimates that number should rise to 80%. “We will not reach 100% because there are fraudsters, there are criminals, those who diverted weapons, those who smuggled weapons, those who sold weapons to a criminal faction”. On the other hand, the 20% not re-registered, recalled Dino, will automatically be considered illegal weapons. “There is a false idea that the re-registration is to confiscate the weapon, on the contrary. In fact, whoever does not re-register will be subject to apprehension”, he explained.

Among the measures provided for in the decree is the re-registration of all CAC weapons in a single database of the Federal Police (PF), the National Weapons System (Sinarm). Before, the weapons were only in an Army system. The Ministry of Justice stipulated a deadline for re-registration of 60 days, starting on February 1st, ending in April.

Flavio Dino also recalled that the Federal Supreme Court recently confirmed the legality of the norm and denied the possibility of a table change on the subject. “The decision of the Supreme Court is binding. [Por isso] it is not possible to change the table of any kind, under the terms of the law, because the Supreme Court has already endorsed the decree and, obviously, with that the decree has to be fulfilled”.

The ministry is going to investigate possible espionage or misuse of Abin equipment.
