The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, inaugurated on the morning of this Wednesday, March 15, the Branch Line 2 of the Panama Metro that has the ITSE stations and the Airport station that connects directly with the Tocumen area terminal.
“The 2-kilometer extension of this line will be of great benefit to the nearly 100,000 Panamanians who reside in Tocumen, Cabuya, La Siesta, Hacienda Santa Fe, by facilitating access to their homes and workplaces, as well as facilitating transportation of ITSE and INADEH students, it also favors travelers and airport workers,” said President Cortizo.
Panama becomes the first country in the region and one of the few in Latin America to have a subway that connects the Capital City with the country’s main airport, enhancing our advantages as a logistics country.
The president also referred to the advances of Line 3 and the extension of Line 1 of the Panama Metro “I take this opportunity to inform that the construction works of the extension of Line 1 to Villa Zaita continue with an advance of 46% for the benefit of more than 300,000 Panamanians in North Panama, likewise the works of Line 3 to West Panama have a 35% progress and once completed will improve the lives of some 500,000 Panamanians residing in those communities.”
It was also reported that the transfer from one train to another will not have any additional cost.
