A fire affected part of the main headquarters of the Municipality of Cerro Largo this wednesday and the building closed its doors to the publicconfirmed to The Observer the mayor of Cerro Largo, José Yurramendi.
As reported by the journalist from Subrayado and La Voz de Melo, Silvia Techera, the incident occurred in the Accounting area of the Intendancy, located on its first floor, and also affected some offices located on the top flooradded Yurramendi.
Techera shared a video of the affected area on its social networks, in which it can be seen as one of the windows of the Accounting area It was left black by the fire.
Yurramendi indicated that the main headquarters will remain closed this wednesday because they must be done cleanup in the place, for the water that should have been used to control the fire. Only the area of Social management, located in a building attached to the headquarters.
Besides, Firefighters continue to work at the scene, and investigate the causes of the incident.
