Luisa Stefani wins in Indian Wells doubles debut

Brazilian Luisa Stefani advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament of the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells, in the United States, after overcoming, alongside Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski, Chilean Alexa Guarachi and New Zealander Erin Routliffe by 2 sets to 0 ( splits of 6/3 and 6/4).Luisa Stefani advances to quarterfinals in Indian Wells doubles

The next challenge for the Brazilian and Canadian in the competition is the team formed by the Japanese Miyu Kato and the Indonesian Aldila Sutijiadi.

Brazil is also represented in the women’s doubles bracket of the tournament played on North American soil by Bia Haddad. Last Monday (13), São Paulo and Germany’s Laura Siegemund beat Ukraine’s Lyudmyla Kichenok and Latvian Jeļena Ostapenko by 2 sets to 1 (6/1, 4/6 and 10/7).

Now, Bia Haddad and Laura Siegemund will face the Swiss Belinda Bencic and Jil Teichmann.
