Maduro wants to use young people to revive the ruling party in the streets

The ruler Nicolás Maduro announced the extension of the National Youth Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) for the rest of the year “to continue carrying out the proposals and decisions of the Venezuelan youth” and affirmed that it will be the highest instance of youth consultation.


This Tuesday, March 14, the president Nicolas Maduro He called on the youth to become the force of the Government in Venezuela. He said his administration wants to empower young people “to go house to house and door to door to meet the needs of the people.”

In a speech from the National Youth Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), he urged young people to “learn to manage from the bases so that we govern from, with and for the youth.” For this reason, Maduro announced the extension of Congress for the remainder of the year.

Likewise, the president proposed the need to integrate all the political and social plans, as well as the missions aimed at youth to form the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, which will be derived from Congress.

As part of the lines of action for youth, Maduro urged strengthening the articulation of young people in high schools, in the Federation of University Students, in the youth of the Great Patriotic Pole and the social movements of re-enactors, as well as promoting all movements of neighborhood youth.

«The decision to create the great mission is a firm decision that I want to gear well so that what we are going to launch is fulfilled, so that there are no announcements that are not fulfilled. This congress has to stay alive, it cannot be dissolved today, it must remain active during the months of this year to be able to convene them and make it the highest instance of youth ».

The president ordered congress to work on issues related to education, sports, health, entrepreneurship, employment, recreation, social protection, and family development. He asked that the Great Housing Mission Venezuela refine details so that young people are part of the beneficiaries of some of the 500,000 homes, which he said will be delivered this year.

On the other hand, he pointed out that “a communication revolution of youth in Venezuela must be carried out. We have to build the most powerful multidimensional platform to win the battle of social networks and that youth gain respect, and Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram”. He also announced the creation of a special window for youth complaints and proposals, through the Ven App Juventud application.

In his speech, the ruler called the carriers to “respect the rights of the youth of Venezuela.” The requirement comes amid discontent and criticism from the sector to his administration, after an adjustment in the fares of the passage that they have ensured does not cover their operating cost structure was approved.

The National Youth Congress was convened on February 12 during a pro-government march for the Battle of La Victoria and Youth Day. At that time, he assigned the organization of the congress to the sectoral vice president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Mervin Maldonado; and the General Secretary of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Jpsuv), Grecia Colmenares.
