President Alberto Fernández is subjected this Tuesday night to a series of studies on the occasion of “acute low back pain”reported the Presidential Medical Unit.
“The President presents a picture of acute low back pain, which is why the corresponding studies will be carried out in order to be able to administer a specific treatment. Public opinion will be kept informed,” stated the official part signed by the doctor Federico Saavedra.
The president’s last health episode had been in November last year in Bali, Indonesia, where he had to be treated for erosive gastritis with signs of bleeding, before which Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero was in charge of replacing him at the summit of leaders of the G20.
Fernández was then transferred to the Sanglah General Hospital in Bali, accompanied by the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin; Argentine doctor Manuel Estigarribia, from the Presidential Medical Unit; and the General Secretaries of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello; and from Press and Communication, Gabriela Cerruti.
In that care center they carried out blood tests and an endoscopy, which determined the gastritis picture, sources from the Presidency indicated at the time.
However, once recovered, Fernández resumed activity in that country and held a scheduled bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, before returning to Argentina.
