Importers of spare parts in favor of vehicle inspection

The National Association of Importers and Distributors of Automotive Parts, Accessories and Mobility (Anamara) expressed its support for the vehicle technical inspection that will be carried out by the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation, in coordination with the General Directorate of Public Private Partnerships.

“The Board of Directors in full Anamara and its 100 associates identify and support the decision and the effort made by the state through Intran and the DGAPP on the execution of the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) as established by Law 63-17. Measures that the public has been waiting for a long time regarding the implementation of clear rules that end or at least reduce deaths from traffic accidents; For this reason, we have decided to support and accompany the Intrant in this process, which will ensure a real effectiveness of road safety, “said the association.

This association brings together 85% of the spare parts import market nationwide, including the 20 largest original automotive spare parts import companies in the country.

“The companies associated with Anamara provide spare parts, tires, batteries, lubricants and other original and quality accessories to the country’s vehicle fleet, guaranteeing safe conditions in their lights, brakes and tires that cause a high percentage of traffic accidents, which each year they cause the death of more than two thousand people due to accidents, mostly caused by mechanical failures. Thus contributing to compliance with the regulations that are required by the state to strengthen road safety,” the association added in a press release.

The entity said that it is willing to encourage other associations and entities related to the sector to also support the measure adopted by the state through the Intrant and thus join efforts to implement these measures, in order to comply with the objectives of at least 50% reduction in deaths and injuries from traffic accidents, of the National Strategic Road Safety Plan of the Dominican Republic (PENSV) 2021-2030.
