The main defendant in the murder of a married couple from the La Guáyiga municipal district must serve one year in preventive detention at the Najayo-Men Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
Judge Joan Rodríguez, of the Permanent Court of Santo Domingo Oeste, accepted the request for a measure of coercion made by the Public ministry against Dylan Ortiz, who recently returned to the country from the United States, to face the accusation. Said magistrate also ordered the declaration of the complex case.
The court made the decision by accepting a request for a measure of coercion presented by the Public Ministry, consisting of preventive detention, against the accused, who declared that he came to the country “to show his face” and face the facts that are pointed out to him.

Ortiz, according to the request for a measure of coercion, was captured by the security cameras of the Olé supermarket branch in Boca Chica when he was buying the materials used to torture and take the life of the couple found tied up in a septic tank.
