High sentences ratified for massacre in San Pedro prison

Nine inmates of the San Pedro prison were beheaded in June 2019. For that case, 24 members of the PCC received high sentences. The sentences were ratified by the Appeals Chamber.

For cruelly murdering nine inmates of the San Pedro prison, the following sentences obtained by the Prosecutor’s Office were confirmed:

Victor Manuel Roa30 years, plus 10 years of security measure.

Celso Luis Alvarenga and Ronaldo Dos Santos, 20 years, plus 5 years of security measures.

Freddy González Delvalle, David Andi Izquierdo and Cristóbal Gamarra, 30 years, plus 10 years of security measures.

Lorenzo Benítez Sosa and Vagner Alexander Knorst, 25 years, plus 10 years of security measures.

Odair Mateus Cardozo and Armando Cáceres20 years, plus 5 years of security measures.

The 24 members of the Primera Comando da Capital were found guilty of aggravated intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide and inmate riot.

The evidence was presented during the oral trial, by prosecutors Giovanni Grisetti, Alejandro Cardozo Pereira and Alicia Sapriza.

Those sentenced beheaded nine people and even kicked their heads like a soccer ball. It all started with a riot that pitted the PCC against the Rotela clan, on June 16, 2019.
