The media businessman, known as the King of Meat, Alberto Samid, insulted the President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, after the interview that the president gave to journalist Jonathan Viale from La Nación Más.
“The Uruguayan President tells you that taxes in Uruguay are lower than here . But it doesn’t tell you that living in Uruguay is four times expensive. Why don’t the President of Uruguay and those who interview the President of Uruguay go shit on it?” Samid tweeted with a screenshot of the interview.
Actually, what the president talked about was the tax cut announced on March 2 before the General Assembly but he did not comment on Argentine taxes.
In the interview, Lacalle Pou spoke about the personal income tax and IASS tax reduction that he announced at the General Assembly on March 2. “The year I met with the Economy interview and I told him that if we grew more than 3.8% we would turn it over to a tax cut. Today we have some peace of mind to give back to people who pay taxes. And there a virtuous effect is generated because it is going to be spent in the neighborhood. I prefer more money in the pockets of the people than in the pockets of the State”.
Samid is an Argentine Peronist businessman and politician who was a Buenos Aires deputy between 1987 and 1991. In 2019 he was sentenced to four years in prison for illicit association for tax evasion.
“There is fiscal prudence, care for public finances, there is certainty,” he assured.
It is not the first time that Samid refers to Lacalle Pou on his Twitter account. On January 25, after the CELAC summit, he wrote the following: “The cool face of Lacalle Pou, my god…”.
