This Monday, March 13, the deputy from the border municipality of Maicao (La Guajira), Miguel Felipe Aragón González, was the victim of an attack when he was inside his residence, together with his relatives having lunch.
It was possible to find out through a security camera video that was recorded when two individuals aboard a motorcycle approached the deputy’s vehicle and without getting off the vehicle firearm was fired at the property which managed to penetrate, but fortunately no one was injured.
The events occurred in race 26 between streets 13 and 14 of the El Carmen neighborhood of the border municipality.

“One shot hit the front door and went over my uncle’s head.Thank God the rest of the shots hit the wall and various parts. It’s a good thing that those people didn’t get mad at shooting at the window because they would have hit me,” the deputy told the newspaper La Guajira Hoy.
“I’m worried because I don’t have problems with anyone and I don’t owe anyone either. There are people who owe me, but I am patient waiting for them to pay me. I don’t fight with anyone and I trust serious people; and on top of that, I don’t need to want to ask for an armored car, ”he added.

It should be noted that Aragón González was a councilor for the municipality of Maicao on two occasions, and also that he was elected a deputy in the periods 2020–2023, with the highest vote.
For his part, the police authorities and the Maicao Mayor’s Office have not offered a reward Whoever delivers information on the subjects who attacked and put the life of the victim at risk political leader and of his relatives, when he was with his relatives, cleaning staff and friends.
