The judge of the Permanent Attention Office of Santo Domingo Oeste on Monday ordered a year of preventive detention for the American citizen Dylan Alberto Ortiz. This man is implicated in the death of a couple from La Guáyiga.
To Ortiz, who will comply with the measure of coercion in the Najayo prison, the Public ministry He accuses him of leading a gang that kidnapped and later murdered the La Guáyiga couple. They are the spouses Luis Miguel Jáquez Rodríguez and Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco.
However, the defense assures that Dylan did not know the couple from La Guáyiga and that he only came to the country for an inquiry about an inheritance from his grandmother.

The jurist maintained that they will appeal the decision of Judge Joan Rodríguez. With the arguments that Dylan Ortiz took a flight and came personally to turn himself in to the authorities so that “it is clarified that he had nothing to do with the crime.”

Public Ministry asks those involved in the case of a couple from La Guáyiga to turn themselves in
The prosecutor of Santo Domingo Oeste, Edward López, assured that they are going to demonstrate in court the participation of the accused in the murder of the couple from La Guáyiga.
López urged the others involved who are fugitives to turn themselves in by the means they deem appropriate.
“I take this opportunity to urge them to turn themselves in in the way they deem prudent. For human rights, for the media, for the prosecution. So that unfortunate situations are avoided,” said the prosecutor.
Proceedings
Recently, the persecuting agency conducted an interrogation of one of those arrested for the act (José Alfredo Ventura Tupete). He was sentenced to preventive detention last week.
Ventura Tupete says that Ortiz along with the fugitive Leonardo Méndez Mojica, alias Naldo, invited him to be part of a network. This was after killing the young Jaquéz Rodríguez in one of his hotel rooms. He also Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco, who was murdered in another place.
The fugitive brothers Eddy Manuel Álvarez Ramírez (Moreno and/or Niño), José Miguel Álvarez Ramírez (Bebe) are also linked to the case.
According to the Public Ministry, on January 24 of this year, in the early hours of the morning, the spouses Luis Miguel Jáquez Rodríguez and Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco disappeared from their home. They lived in the La Guáyiga sector, Pedro Brand municipality.
As a result of their disappearance, the members of the Disappeared Unit of the National Police under the direction of the Public Ministry began investigations.
After the events, the authorities followed up on a Hyundai brand vehicle, model Tucson (2020), gray jeep. They used the car to transport the couple from La Guáyiga. It was determined that they rented it to Mr. Alfredo Antonio Nova Pérez.
The investigations conducted by the Public Ministry establish that the fugitive Leonardo Méndez Mojica had rented the aforementioned vehicle from January 21 to 27 of this year.
When this was voluntarily turned over to the authorities by Mr. Alfredo Antonio Nova Pérez, responsible for the vehicle, several inspections were carried out that revealed the place where the lifeless bodies of the married couple were found.
The body of the deceased Miguel Jaquéz Rodríguez was found completely tied up with transparent sticky tape, and the body of Mrs. Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco was likewise tied up with the same type of tape. The lifeless bodies were found in a septic tank in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos.
