The Senate of the Republic, through the Administrative Directorate, ruled on the complaints made by Congressman Jota Pé Hernández, who accused the producer of the institution’s channel of committing acts of sexual harassment and abuse against some workers.
According to Hernandez, John Jairo Uribe apparently also requested part of his salary from some of the channel’s employees and drugged them to gain access to them by force.

Based on these remarks, the Administrative Directorate issued a statement clarifying that Uribe is not a direct official of the National Capitol.
“Messrs. Jhon Jairo Uribe and Valeria Uribe, have no direct contractual relationship with the Senate of the Republic, Its contractual relationship is with the company DESARROLLO DE INFRAESTRUCTURA CIVIL Y SERVICIOS TECNICOS ESPECIALIZADOS DE GESTION PARA LAS REGIONES-SOCIEDAD DE ECONOMIA MIXTA SAS – DICITEC, with whom the Senate of the Republic has currently contracted the content operation and production service of the Canal del Congress,” they say.
However, The entity did say that measures will be taken, following the complaints delivered by Senator Hernández and the victims themselves:
- The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation will be certified the complaint filed today by Senator Jonathan Ferney Pulido Hernández.
- The victims who are the subject of the complaint will be contacted to activate the protocol adopted by Resolution No. 010 of 2023 of the board of directors of the Congress of the Republic “Comprehensive Protocol for the Prevention and Institutional Guidance against Conduct of Sexual Violence, in the Labor and Contractual Field, in the Congress of the Republic – Senate of Republic and House of Representatives”.
- The supervisor of the contract signed with SOCIEDAD DE ECONOMIA MIXTA SAS – DICITEC, will take the pertinent measures from the contractual point of view with the objective of guaranteeing compliance with the political constitution and the law.
The directives of the Senate They urged all officials to file the corresponding complaints against the people who would be committing this kind of abuse within the institution.
The president of Congress, Roy Barreras, welcomed the fact that Senator Jota Pe Hernández made the revelations and that it has filed the corresponding judicial actions with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
