Political leaders of the Frente de Todos (FdT) and Together for Change (JxC) greeted the Pope Francisco by means of a letter, on the 10th anniversary of his pontificate.
Through the letter sent to Pope Franciscopersonalities such as President Alberto Fernández, Vice President Cristina Kirchner and the Head of Government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, among many other leaders of the ruling party and the opposition, sent heartfelt messages to the holy father.
In the text, the different political forces express to the Pope Francisco their admiration and respect and that they hope that he will visit Argentina soon, to personally express their gratitude for the works he carries out in favor of those most in need.
“Dear Pope Francis: On this tenth anniversary of your pontificate, we, Argentine men and women from different spheres of public life, from different religious, political and ideological backgrounds, We want to express our admiration and closeness for your work in favor of Humanity, particularly the excluded and poor peoples”, the letter begins.
And he continues: “Your firm defense of world peace and your permanent promotion of an Integral Ecology that allows us to hear the cry of Mother Earth and of the Human Being in the face of destructive situations that threaten peoples and nature.”
Likewise, the different political leaders highlighted the affection of the Argentine people towards the Holy Father and valued his tenacious work for peace, justice and integral human development throughout the world: “We know the resistance that your work generates among those who may be affected interests that are not legitimate”.
In this context, they thanked him for what he has done and is doing and remarked: “Those of us who have faith, we pray for you; the rest, we accompany you with affection and confidence “.
Who signed the letter
Among the officials who participated in the letter sent to the supreme pontiff, there are, on the part of the ruling party, governors such as Axel Kicillof (Buenos Aires), Sergio Ziliotto (La Pampa), Arabela Carreras (Río Negro), Gustavo Bordet (Entre Ríos), among others. Officials such as Agustín Rossi (Chief of Cabinet), Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero and Ministers Sergio Massa (Economy), Eduardo “Wado” De Pedro (Interior), Vice President Cristina Kirchner and President Alberto Fernández, among others, also joined.
On behalf of the opposition, the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta; the former Buenos Aires governor María Eugenia Vidal and the legislators Martín Lousteau and Facundo Manes, as well as the Buenos Aires ministers Fernán Quirós (Health), Soledad Acuña (Education) and Enrique Avogrado (Culture), among others.
