Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), decided to release another 130 prisoners because of the coup acts of January 8, when the headquarters of the Three Powers were invaded and vandalized. 
This time, all those released are men. That’s because Moraes concluded, last week, the analysis of all requests for provisional release made by women. In all cases, the releases received a favorable opinion from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
According to Supreme Court data, 1,014 people have been released so far, of which 407 are women. Another 392 individuals remain in prison, 82 of them women.
In the case of those who were released, Moraes applied the understanding that they had less serious conduct and did not pose a threat to the course of the investigation, being able to respond to the complaint in freedom.
Most people released have already been denounced PGR. In all, to date, the accusing body has denounced 919 individuals for incitement to crime and criminal association. Another 219 people will respond for more serious conduct, including qualified damage, violent abolition of the rule of law and coup d’état.
All those accused have already been notified to present a prior defense. The PGR did not even offer a non-criminal prosecution agreement to the detainees, as it understood that the measure would not be possible in cases involving attacks on the democratic rule of law.
All provisionally released persons must present themselves within 24 hours in the region of their residence, having to present themselves weekly. In addition, all must have their passport canceled and any authorization to carry a weapon suspended.
They are also prohibited from leaving the house at night and on weekends, as well as not being able to use social networks or get in touch with other investigated persons.
