One day is expected hot and sunny in a large part of the country for this Monday, March 13, in the middle of a heat wave that affects almost the entire territory, according to the forecast of the Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet). Winds of up to 60 km/h are also forecast for the formation of storms in various parts of Uruguay.
Montevideo and the metropolitan area are expected to have a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 22 °C. The day will be “clear and somewhat cloudy”, and will be accompanied by high temperatures and gusts of wind of up to 60 km/h in the afternoon and night.
Inumet Forecast for the East
The eastern zone will have a maximum temperature of 34°C and a minimum of 21 °C. Somewhat cloudy weather with mists and fog banks is expected during the morning. In the afternoon and evening a more cloudy sky will appear with possible isolated thunderstorms. End of day expected “windy” with a wind of up to 60 km/h in the coastal areas.
How will the west be?
In it west Inumet forecasts a “clear and somewhat cloudy” day with high temperatures in the afternoon and night, already warned by the heat wave which is in force from Thursday 9 to Monday 13 March in that area. The temperatures will vary between 22 °C and 38°C.
This will be the center of the country, according to Inumet
The central area of the country expects temperatures between 21 and 37°C. Inumet foresees a day between sunny and cloudy, with an afternoon and night that will present high temperatures and winds of up to 60 km/h in coastal areas.
And in the north?
In the northwest area, a maximum temperature of 37°C and a minimum of 22 °C. During the morning there will be periods of clouds and sun, while in the afternoon and evening cloudier skies and a low probability of isolated storms are forecast.
Finally, in the northeast zone the temperatures will oscillate between 36°C and 20 °C. The day will start sunny and end cloudy, with high temperatures and a low probability of isolated storms.
