Executive Power extends state of emergency in the province of Ica

The government of Dina Boluarte extended this Saturday the state of emergency for 30 more days in the province of Ica, which will become effective as of March 14, 2023.

During the period that this regulation lasts, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) will maintain control of internal order, with the support of the Armed Forces (FF.AA.).

Likewise, and as indicated in article 137 of the Constitution, the restriction or suspension of the exercise of constitutional rights related to the inviolability of the home, freedom of transit through the national territory, freedom of assembly and personal freedom and security, included in subsections of article 2.

On the other hand, the norm explains the intervention of the police and the armed forces. It is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Legislative Decree that regulates the use of force by the PNP and the use of force by the Armed Forces in the national territory and its regulations.

Also, take into account the “Protocol of joint action of the State for the articulation of services in contexts of detention, detention and police intervention for women and people in vulnerable conditions”approved by Supreme Decree 002-2023-MIMP.

Supreme Decree 031-2023-PCM, published in the Legal Regulations bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano, bears the signature of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte; the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Alberto Otárola; and the defense ministers, Jorge Chávez; of the Interior, Vicente Romero; and of Justice, José Tello.
