Auza and mayors agree on a plan to avoid a regrowth

The Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, and the mayors of the capital cities of Bolivia agreed last night to carry out a plan to prevent outbreaks of the coronavirus, in addition to enabling health centers for diagnosing the virus, intensifying vaccination, and preparing post-pandemic logistics.

“We have reached the following conclusions: work on a comprehensive vaccination plan according to the regular EPI and the vaccine against Covid-19, in order to avoid outbreaks, this with the decentralization of vaccination, meaning that we will carry out coordinated work so that all health centers that have a cold chain can guarantee vaccination in the regular scheme and also anti-covid vaccination, ”said Auza after the meeting with the citizens that lasted more than five hours.

The president of the Federation of Municipal Associations of Bolivia and mayor of Sucre, Enrique Leaño, six mayors of the capital cities and secretaries of health of nine municipalities, plus El Alto, technical teams, vice ministers of autonomy, management of the health system and promotion , epidemiological surveillance and traditional medicine.

Auza also highlighted that it was established that the municipalities will develop post-pandemic plans and communication campaigns to insist on vaccination and diagnosis within the framework of their powers.

The minister revealed that some asked for the reconsideration of the health card requirement. “The autonomous municipal governments request that the requirement of the vaccination card be resumed, however, it was clarified that the decision was made based on the analysis carried out by the National Health Emergency Council,” he specified.

In the context of the return to school classes, which began this week in the country, Auza insisted that it must be in a responsible and coordinated manner with the mayor’s office, departmental health services, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Ministry of Education. , “complying with biosecurity and vaccination measures for students and teachers.”

Oxygen Plan
