Airport Department and IDAC carry out inspection in Pedernales

Departamento Aeroportuario e IDAC realizan inspección en Pedernales

The executive director of the Airport Department, Víctor Pichardoheaded this Friday a tour of the land where the Pedernales International Airportin the zone The Three Pools, municipality of Oviedo.

The commission was also made up of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), represented by Claudia Roa, director of Air Navigation and Hender Castro, director of Operational Safety Surveillance, as well as technicians from the Airport Department.

With this technical inspection, the conditions of the location of the land where the air terminal will be built are verified.

“All the agencies that affect the construction and certification of an airport, we are on the ground. It is an initiative that has been assumed by the Republic President as its mother project. This started and it doesn’t stop anymore.” Pichardo pointed out.

Also present at the visit were the governor of Pedernales, Miriam Brea and the mayor of Oviedo, Ramon Perezwho expressed their satisfaction to see that the work is being carried out and that finally the population of Pedernales will see their dream come true.

Finally, Pichardo thanked the receptivity and willingness of the entire community, “We together with the IDAC and the APP (General Directorate of Public-Private Alliance) we are working day and night”, concluded Víctor Pichardo.

The delimitation of the Pedernales International Airport covers some 14 million square meters.
