Supreme Judge Juan Carlos Checkley granted the protection of rights filed by the Attorney General’s Office and ordered that it participate in all tax interrogations, including the president Dina Boluarteon the deaths registered during the protests of last December and January.
Precisely, the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, suspended Boluarte’s statement scheduled for March 7 pending this resolution.

The attorney general Daniel Soria filed the appeal after the Public Ministry did not summon him to participate in the taking of the statement of the premier Alberto Otárola on February 16. Due to this, he requested the annulment of the demonstration and that, from now on, his office be cited in the proceedings as an aggrieved party.
The Prosecutor’s Office, in response, indicated that it was not obliged to summon the Attorney General’s Office and that the Criminal Procedure Code (CPP) supports that decision.
Given this, Judge Checkley concluded that the right of the aggrieved party cannot only be understood only by what the CPP stipulates.
