The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) has calculated the payment of a vehicle technical review at a rate of RD$62.50 for each dollar, based on the fact that the revision fee establishes 32 dollars, which when taken into pesos amounts to RD$2,000, the corresponding figure. to cars and jeeps.
The rate established by the Central Bank for today is $55.16 pesos for each dollar.

It indicates that the buses would pay US$48, which calculated in pesos, based on the already mentioned rate, would be about RD$3,000; while cargo vehicles, including dump trucks US$40, RD$2,500 and heavy machines US$53, RD$3,300.

Motorcycles have the lowest rate, with US$10 dollars, about 600 pesos.

In this year’s General State Budget, an average exchange rate of RDS56.9 per dollar is foreseen for an estimated depreciation of 3.1%.
Amount
According to data from the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) there are 1,684,837 eligible vehicles for license renewal. However, the vehicle fleet in the Dominican Republic is around 5,462,539 units (exonerated and official).
This revision tax would be additional to the payment of the label, which is around RD$1,500 for those with more than five years of manufacture and RD$3,000 for those with less time.

The technical review application, pending bidding, and applicable through a public-private partnership, is contemplated by Law 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety.

On his side, the president of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic, Miguel Surún Hernández, warned that he will challenge the privatization of the annual magazine system for motor vehicles.
He assures that this would constitute a very serious attack, not only against the middle class, but also the popular one, such as the motoconchos, who would have to pay 600 pesos a year.
