Health CDMX denies having "experienced" with the use of ivermectin against COVID

The SocArXiv Steering Committee indicated among the reasons for removing the study was that it spreads misinformation by promoting unproven medical treatment during a pandemic; In addition, he pointed out, it justifies a government program that unethically administered drugs without proof, consent or due protections, in accordance with the standards in research on human beings.

In addition, the committee points out that the authors did not make their conflicts of interest public, being part of the Government of Mexico City itself, the same body that carried out the program.

Among the authors of the document are José Merino, head of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP); Eduardo Clark, Director of Digital Government, and Lila Petersen, Director of Data Intelligence.

They are also Oliva López Arellano, Secretary of Health; Jorge Alfredo Ochoa Moreno, general director of Public Health Services of Mexico City, and Víctor Hugo Borja Aburto, who was an official of the Health Institute for Well-being (Insabi) and is now the head of the Education and Research Unit of the IMSS.

According to Sedesa, ivermectin was allowed to be administered in the city in September 2021, after the federal government did not recommend its use for the treatment of infected people, in accordance with the Clinical Guide for the treatment of COVID-19.
