CDMX, Mexico. – The state newspaper Granma public a review on March 7 about the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, in which the officials spoke with a demagogic and bureaucratic language, an evil endemic to the communist nomenclature.
The designated president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, guided: “The best time that is used in the programming of the cadres and of our institutions, is the time that is in the base.” He then added: “If there is no link with the base, there is no follow-up on the problems of the people.” That is what he said, this improvement is aimed at, so that there is more time to be at the base, because if we don’t go to the base, “we are not solving anything.”
With such demagoguery, the designated one intends to justify the serious accumulated problems of the country, and bridge the gap that exists between the official discourse and the citizen’s needs.
For his part, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, said that the objective of the meeting was: “The Government’s work system – whose actions must be aimed at responding to the work priorities designed for this year – is constantly updated, based on a more agile and deep performance, and in turn strengthen the work of the Government at all levels. We have to achieve, he pointed out, that the results are really seen ”. According to the official, the problems can be solved if the leaders change their “mentality.”
Ulises Guilarte by Birthsecretary of the CTC, said: “It is essential to integrate all efforts to ensure production from a business management, with an eye on the resources we have, and continue raising the management to advance as much as possible in food production, and thereby improve the living conditions of the population.
The Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, said when commenting on the first economic results for January: “The numbers for this first month of the year indicate that we have to ‘pick up the pace’ because there are many potentialities that exist in companies, in which plans are sometimes exceeded, and this is not always reflected in higher levels of activity” .
He added, at the end, that in January there had been a slight growth in exports, especially products such as nickel, honey, charcoal and tobacco. The levels reached, he specified, are in accordance with the provisions of the Economy Plan. The growth of monetary circulation was 9%, but it is not possible to lower inflation and there was a modest recovery in tourism, with the arrival of 248,000 visitors.
The Cuban military legalizes its appropriation of state real estate
The Minister of Justice, Oscar Silvera Martínez, updated on the behavior of the registration plan of state real estate in the Property Registry at the end of 2022, “an issue in which progress is being made and is of transcendental importance to strengthen order and security.” discipline in the country,” he said.
“Ministries such as Industries and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), as well as the province of Santiago de Cuba, are among those with the best results in this process. Meanwhile, the main breaches are found in companies of the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, as well as in locally subordinated entities in the provinces of Matanzas, Ciego de Ávila, Villa Clara and Mayabeque,” the official specified.
FAR Division General Samuel Rodiles Planas has been Minister of Housing and Physical Planning since 2012. The Law 145 “On Territorial and Urban Planning, and Land Management” and the Law of Expropriation for Reasons of Public Utility or Social Interestboth approved last December, support the discretion of GAESA and the armed forces to divide up the national territory, under the cloak of “public utility” and “state property”, as has been done since the 1990s in Cuba.
What would a civilian government do in Cuba?
-Immediate release of the 1,077 Cuban political prisoners, whose rights are violated in prisons.
-Decriminalize freedom of expression, press, demonstration and association.
– Call for free elections to elect political representatives.
-Allow the creation of free trade unions.
-Send the military to the barracks and confiscate the ownership and management of all national assets.
-Prohibit all economic monopolies in the country.
-Eliminate the state monopoly GAESA and open the bidding to free national and foreign actors, to build and manage tourism, transportation and real estate companies, as well as retail stores that are now controlled by the military, with prices up to seven times higher than the actual cost of the product.
-Eliminate the two aforementioned laws, which leave citizens and their property helpless.
-Create new laws to protect the rights of citizens.
-Allow the ownership, production and free trade of all food producers in Cuba.
-Eliminate the monopoly of state intermediaries in charge of controlling the import and export of goods and services.
-Eliminate the “state charge” that today steals 75% of crops and livestock, and 100% of tobacco production, paying prices below the market and with months of delay.
-Eliminate two thirds of the current economic and political bureaucracy that parasitizes and obstructs, diverting resources and national productions, behind public control.
In short, inserting oneself into contemporary “normality”, the only way to respect economic, civil and political rights, as has been demanding independent civil society in Cuba since 1959. But the dictatorship, instead, is “Waiting for Godot”that is, that they remove the embargo.
