Government asked for more candidates for management of the Federation of Coffee Growers

He Ministry of Finance and Public Creditthrough a statement, informed the country that the National Government is interested in having more female candidacies for the selection process management of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC).

The coffee entity carried out a selection process that resulted in a total of seven pre-selected profiles for the organization’s management positionafter doing an analysis of more than 45 resumes received between February 2 and 23.

The names that were known in the semifinal stage of the process, held on March 9, were: Germán Alberto Bahamón Jaramillo, César Augusto Echeverry Castaño, Luis Fernando Mejía Alzate, Sandra Morelli Rico, Santiago Pardo Salguero and Carlos Felipe Robayo Duque; that is, six men and one woman.

In a democratic environment of coordination, responsibility and given the relevance of the position, the FNC Steering Committee advanced steadily in the process of electing the general manager and selected 7 of the best resumes received from applicants”, said Jorge Alberto Posada Saldarriaga, president of the entity’s Steering Committee.

Given this, the Ministry of Finance issued a request from the Government to the FNC to include a greater number of women in the list, rejecting the fact that only one candidate has been selected.

The National Government will ask the Steering Committee of the National Federation of Coffee Growers to review the list of candidates for management of the entity in order to include a significant number of women candidates. In addition, it rejects that there is only one woman on the current list”, stated the Ministry in the circular.

Likewise, the Ministry closed the statement stating that the Government of President Gustavo Petro “will carry out a detailed analysis in order to confirm that all the candidates meet the requirements demanded by the National Committee of Coffee Growers”.
