Daysi George, a member of the Civic Alliance, explained to Article 66 that the Ortega Saavedras consider themselves the owners of a farm and that this farm is Nicaragua, which they can dispose of whenever they want. According to the opposition, Humberto and Daniel Ortega only want to defend the wealth they have accumulated in the country and that is why they are calling for a “holy truce.”

The opposition member and declared stateless by the regime, Alexa Zamora, assumes this call for a “holy truce” as another of the “desperate attempts” that Humberto Ortega has used, with increasing frequency, “to be able to release the level of pressure” that there is against the regime headed by his brother.
“It is not by chance that this call is made in the context in which the international community has issued an overwhelming report on the commission of crimes against humanity that directly indicate the co-responsibility of the regime,” he said.
George explained that it is urgent to give way to democracy, and not to lead Nicaragua in an economic crisis to extreme poverty, “something that they are very used to doing, regardless of what the people suffer.”
Opponents will continue to denounce Ortega and Murillo
Mairena considers that the “advice” that Humberto Ortega should give his brother is to release all political prisoners, to declare null and void all those political trials against the 222 exiles and to restore the nationality to the 94 Nicaraguans.
