In the midst of the controversy between teachers and the Government of Buenos Aires due to the lack of building conditions to teach classes, a new complaint aggravated the situation, since it was reported that in a school of the City there are scorpions.
The event occurred in the School Normal Superior in Living Languages Sofía E. Broquen de Spangenberg, for which reason the parents request that classes be suspended in the institution at the risk of being stung.
However, this would not be the first time that such a situation has arisen in a school of the City, since in the past they have also denounced the presence of this and other types of animals.
This way, The educational community demands that the Buenos Aires Ministry of Education interrupt classes and carry out “an urgent fumigation” throughout the building as students and teachers are at risk.
The denunciation of the scorpions adds to the controversy that currently exists with the ventilation system in many institutionswhose problems have become evident in the midst of the heat wave that the City has suffered for several days.
In this regard, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Education decided to deliver 170,000 bottles of cold water to keep students hydrated; however, educators insist that fundamental solutions are needed, since this is a problem that is repeated year after year.
For this reason, the teachers insist that the Government does not guarantee adequate conditions for teaching, since the buildings have serious problems, some even in the structures.
Parents’ complaint
The parents stated that “The appearance of scorpions is caused by extreme temperatures, poor hygiene and cleanliness conditions, added to poor pest control”.
For this reason, they requested “the suspension of activities until the fumigation, cleaning and confirmation that there are no more scorpions that represent a risk to the health of our children, teachers, authorities and cleaning and school teachers are carried out” .
And they remarked that “It is unacceptable that they teach classes in this situation, which is really very dangerous” and that they contacted the Department of Prevention and Control of Zoonoses, who “recommended not sending the children to school and making the corresponding complaint”.
