Disney+ premieres series starring Luis Alberto García and Héctor Noas

MADRID, Spain.- The Argentine-Spanish series The cry of butterfliesstarring Cuban actors Luis Alberto García and Héctor Noas, premiered on March 8.

Produced by Star+, the Disney platform in Latin America, it is inspired by the Dominican activist Minerva Mirabal, who was murdered along with her sisters by order of the Dominican dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, in 1960.

The leading role of Trujillo is played by Luis Alberto Garcia. While Noas He plays “Petán” Trujillo, brother of the dictator and who, without talent for political command, but histrionic and ambitious, is in charge of the most important night club in the Dominican Republic.

This Wednesday, both actors announced the premiere from their social networks.

Hector Noas shared an image of his character in the series. In his publication he explained: “Here, characterized for the character of José Arismendy `Petán´ Trujillo, Minister of Communications and pioneer in the creation of Television in Santo Domingo.”

In addition to Noas and García, the Cuban Alina Robert also intervenes, who plays Patria Mirabal, an active militant who fights the regime with her husband and, like her sisters, is assassinated. The cast is completed by Belén Rueda, Sandy Hernández, Susana Abaitua, Essined Aponte, Guillermo Toledo, Mercedes Sampietro and Camila Issa.

The story of the series takes place between the year 1930 and the day of the assassination of Trujillo, alias “El Chivo”, in 1961. Throughout 13 chapters, it recreates the situation in the Dominican Republic during the Trujillo dictatorship.

The cry of butterflies Directed by Mariano Hueter, Leandro Ipiña and Inés París, it was shot in Bogotá and Barranquilla over 17 weeks. From this Wednesday it is available on Star+ and will be distributed by Filmax in Spain and the rest of the world.
