Mario Vargas Llosa was decorated with the great Collar of the order ‘the sun of Peru’ by the president Dina Boluarte in the Government Palace. After that, he gave a brief press conference in which he commented on the political and social crisis in which the country is located, delimiting that “the process has manifested itself within the law” since President Boluarte “is on very solid foundations” for which we only have to wish her “great success”, in addition to the fact that in the country ‘there is democracy’.
The writer pointed out that although “There are many problems ahead, the president will solve them little by little”Well, the case of Peru is “absolutely democratic” because Congress and the Judiciary have rectified that the Boluarte government is legitimate.
When asked about the more than 60 deaths caused by the social crisis, Vargas Llosa pointed out that “The transmission of command should be enough for Peruvians to feel that the laws have been respected.” with respect to the executive branch. For the Nobel, the current context will be resolved without major change in the political sphere.
