President Biden’s approval rating rises

OnCubaNews

President Biden’s approval rating hit its highest point since June, rising to 42%, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Biden’s approval rating improved slightly from February, when it was registered at 41% and improved from last summer, when it was at 36%, according to the poll published Wednesday.

The poll also found that 81% of Democrats support Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, about which the Supreme Court heard oral arguments last week. Only 29% of Republicans approved of the program.

It also found that 84% of Republicans think it should be more difficult for immigrants to cross the southern border seeking asylum. Only 35% of Democrats agree.

Poll: Nearly 60% of Americans Disapprove of Biden’s Performance

The poll found that 81% of Democrats said they approved of Biden’s performance. Only 10% of Republicans approve.

The approval rating surge comes as inflation has eased, unemployment remains low, and the president prepares to officially announce his re-election.

Late last month, Biden traveled to Ukraine and Poland for the first anniversary of the Russian invasion, but he also faced some backlash, in part because he did not visit East Palestine, Ohio, after a train derailment.

Another poll, released in February, found that Biden’s approval rating reached its highest level since March 2022, rising to 46% after the second State of the Union address.

Biden has said that he intends to seek re-election in 2024. On the opposite side, former President Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley have announced that they will seek the Republican nomination.

Democrat Marianne Williamson has also joined the race.

The survey was conducted among 1,023 American adults. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
