After being decorated by President Dina Boluarte with the Grand Collar of the Order of El Sol at the Government Palace, the famous Arequipa writer Mario Vargas Llosa thanked the Peruvian Government for the recognition given a few weeks after his admission to the French Language Academy .
“I am deeply grateful, President Boluarte, for this decoration with the Grand Collar of the Order of the Sun of Peru. I am honored that the authorities of the Peruvian State appreciate my recent incorporation into the French Academy. Although I live abroad, Peruvian affairs have never affected me. been oblivious,” he said.
