The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, and its German counterpart from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) launched the AgTech.Ar platform at ExpoAgro, an integrated digital space that seeks to accelerate the linkage and collaboration between startups, producers, investors, universities and entrepreneurs to promote technological solutions that increase the sustainability and competitiveness of Argentine agribusiness.

This system, which has been operational since March 1, offers a continuous record that allows data from the members of the ecosystem to be categorized to facilitate synergies between different providers, services, and products; In addition to allowing the positioning of the Argentine AgTech as relevant players in the sector at an international level, the agricultural portfolio reported in a statement.

The Undersecretary of Agriculture of the Nation, Delfo Buchaillot, highlighted the opportunity for Argentina to make visible the technologies developed in the country so that they reach more investors and producers as well as industrialists who can use agricultural technologies.

“Germany is very satisfied with the collaboration carried out with Argentina and this is part of the objective of creating the Innovation Directorate,” said the official.

“We saw that technologies were orphaned and startups were not reaching producers, this represents unrestricted free access to all technologies, a true democratization of technological development,” concluded Buchaillot.

For his part, the Argentine ambassador in Berlin, Fernando Brun, stressed that “the AgTech platform is the vision of the Secretariat to promote public-private dynamics and make visible intangible assets of Argentine science and knowledge.”

The diplomat highlighted “the efficiency of Argentine producers” while celebrating these initiatives that provide “complementary technological solutions and value Argentine soil for the development of a sustainable economy.”

Meanwhile, Nacira Muñoz, vice president of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) -who participated in the development with the contribution of its technicians and techniques-, highlighted that the new platform “allows us to make progress in public-private collaboration” in the area of AgTech so that “it is coupled to the national and sustainable development of Argentina”.

Through a QR code it is possible to register and upload data, background, the way it works and investors can enter to help those who are looking for financing.
